Hour 24 – I Can See Clearly Now the End Will Come…

This is Kate from Kate’s Book Nook and you have made it to the finish hour. Can you see the finish line? No, seriously, it is right above. Can you see it? Well done everyone!!! Whether you have done 24 hours or just 1 hour, you have done amazing! It has been so much fun hanging out with you all and I eagerly look forward to our next readathon. Thank you to all the cheerleaders and volunteers. We have had a lot of fun!

One more: The Baby Ruth candy bar was actually named after Grover Cleveland’s baby daughter, Ruth. So next time you bite into one, you know the real origin of its name! Enjoy!!!

    Which hour was most daunting for you? 23 was pretty hard, my caffeine was beginning to run down by this points.
    Could you list a few high-interest books that you think could keep a Reader engaged for next year? Really it depends on the reader in my opinion, genre preference really makes a big difference.

    Do you have any suggestions for how to improve the Read-a-thon next year?
    I am quite happy with how it goes.

    Oh, now I know what could be an improvement… ;-)
    A newsletter of some sort that alerts me to the next read-a-thon? I am useless with RSS-feeds, I subscribe and then never read them. And perhaps an update on the homepage with dates of the new read-a-thon?

    1.Which hour was most daunting for you? The last few hours. I made it until 10pm and then fell asleep.

    2.Could you list a few high-interest books that you think could keep a Reader engaged for next year? No I made a poor choice for the books I chose for the readathon.

    3.Do you have any suggestions for how to improve the Read-a-thon next year? More advertising.

    Interesting … I went to the Mr. Linky and provided a link to my End-of-Event Meme and then started looking at who else had provided a link. Lo and behold! There was my link to the MidEvent Survey. I don’t know whether you guys planned to use the same Mr. Linky for that or not, but that’s what happened.

    I really enjoy the Dewey’s 24-hour Read-a-Thon. I look forward to it each time, and even though I’m getting to the age where it’s just flat-out impossible to keep reading for 24-hours, I still have fun with the whole thing. I’ll be back in October!

    This is the first time I joined the cheerleading squad. I had fun and it didn’t interfer with my reading much, in fact it provided much needed breaks in between. Will definitely sign up again.

    Also, I saw someone suggested a twitter challenge as one of the mini challenges. Tweet about the plot or something. I like that idea a lot too.

    Which hour was most daunting for you?

    Hour 21 – so close to the finish but I just couldn’t fight past my tiredness at that point. So I waved the white flag and went to bed.

    Could you list a few high-interest books that you think could keep a Reader engaged for next year?

    All the books I read were really good. But Dark Goddess by Sarwat Chadda definitely gave me that second wind I needed to make it as far as I did.

    Do you have any suggestions for how to improve the Read-a-thon next year?

    Hour Fifteen – getting sleepy eyes

    2. Could you list a few high-interest books that you think could keep a Reader engaged for next year?
    Anything by Diana Palmer, Suzanne Brockman or Sandra Brown
    (although I didn’t read a book by them this time – they are still my all time favorite authors)

    3. Do you have any suggestions for how to improve the Read-a-thon next year?
    No

    4. What do you think worked really well in the year’s Read-a-thon?
    Changing scenery helped this time (I didn’t feel as exhausted as I did last read a thon
    (going to Starbucks to read, going to Cici’s Pizza for supper & to read)

    Which hour was most daunting for you? there wasn’t a particularly daunting time for me, mainly because I had to take time out to see to my partner’s needs so I had the opportunity to refresh the batteries.
    Could you list a few high-interest books that you think could keep a Reader engaged for next year? I wouldn’t necessarily recommend any of the books I read this year – they were chosen to be undemanding reads
    Do you have any suggestions for how to improve the Read-a-thon next year? not really. This was my first time and the only thing I thought missing was the lack of a countdown message (to countdown to the actual start) on the website.
    What do you think worked really well in this year’s Read-a-thon? The cheerleaders were very good.
    How many books did you read? I read 3 books and started on the 4th.
    What were the names of the books you read? Spin a Wicked Web by Cricket Rae, Presumed Guilty by Tess Gerritsen, Little Girls Lost by JA Kerley and I started reading Blue Monday by Nicci French
