Hour 1

EEE!!! I’m so excited that the read-a-thon is finally here! Are you ready? Do you have your snacks prepared? Your potential books picked out?

Your host for the next four hours is Trish, and Bethany will co-host for two hours, and then Shesten will take over for her. For the next 4 hours, I (Trish) will be typing up the hosts, and Bethany or Shesten will be checking Twitter, checking in with readers, making sure I don’t screw up, and being generally awesome. It’ll be so much fun! :D

Make sure you check out the Welcome post! It will give you a lot of information that you’ll need. Even if you’ve read it before, you might want to read it again…I mention some new buttons!

Our first mini-challenge for you is the Hour 1 meme that Darcy wrote up quite a few read-a-thons ago. I’d alter it but I’m all about traditions, man!

If you’re a veteran read-a-thoner, Any advice for people doing this for the first time?

    This is my first time, so I am just trying to figure out what I need to do. I started reading Making Toast by Roger Rosenblatt and it’s pretty good so far. Sitting in front of my kerosene heater and keeping warm!

    I just left a link to my 1st post- I didn’t see the Hour 1 post until after I’d already read it. For some reason, none of today’s posts are showing up in my Google Reader. Seriously, Google Reader?? Today is not the day to malfunction! (My apologies if it turns out to be user error and not Google Reader error!)

    I am reading from Dawsonville, GA, about 50 miles northeast of Atlanta.
    At the moment I have 2 books in my to be read pile- Bo’s Cafe by John Lynch et al. and Imaginary Jesus by Matt Mikalatos. I’m also going to read the Biblical books of Isaiah and Jeremiah.
    I would like to finish at least one of the books.
