Hour 24
You’re sooooooooooooo close! YOU CAN DO IT! Prop those eyes open with some toothpicks or something! Warning: There are a few curse words in this clip. I usually try to keep it squeaky clean, but I counted an “h” word, an “s” word, and one muttered “f” word (but I only caught it on the second time through because I was looking for swear words). If those are going to offend you, don’t watch. If they’re not, this will convince you to stay awake through the next hour. If you don’t, I’m sicking the aliens on you personally…
It’s that time… End of Event Meme Time. Fill out these and link up to the direct post when you’re done:
1. Which hour was most daunting for you?
2. Could you list a few high-interest books that you think could keep a Reader engaged for next year?
3. Do you have any suggestions for how to improve the Read-a-thon next year?
4. What do you think worked really well in this year’s Read-a-thon?
5. How many books did you read?
6. What were the names of the books you read?
7. Which book did you enjoy most?
8. Which did you enjoy least?
9. If you were a Cheerleader, do you have any advice for next year’s Cheerleaders?
10. How likely are you to participate in the Read-a-thon again? What role would you be likely to take next time?
It’s been fun hanging out with you guys! I hope you’ll join us again in April!

Gnoe (@Graasland)on 10 Oct 2010 at 3:43 am 17Gimme those meme questions! 15 minutes to start another book is too little so let’s round up!
Michaelon 10 Oct 2010 at 3:44 am 18Here’s my final entry, anyway. I started at 7, so finished at 7. April, here I come.
http://gothougeekly.wordpress.com/2010/10/10/done-finally/
Nikkion 10 Oct 2010 at 3:50 am 19There, done my wrap-up bit here, though I’ll probably post a separate entry later. I’m going to read for the last ten minutes and then go make soup for lunch.
(After that, I’ll finish up the book I’m only partway through. I’m in a reading mood, still.)
Debnance at Readerbuzzon 10 Oct 2010 at 3:50 am 20I’m walking the last lap. Whew. Ready for a nap before church.
It’s been fun!
Stephon 10 Oct 2010 at 3:52 am 21Almost 5am. I’m so ready for bed. But I’m also ready to see how much more reading I can get done tomorrow.
Sherri W.on 10 Oct 2010 at 3:55 am 22Congrats to everyone that stayed up. I crashed in hour 20 and woke up to the alarm just now. So bummed I didn’t make it again, but it was still tons of fun.
Stephon 10 Oct 2010 at 4:01 am 23I thought they were going to throw up a survey, but I don’t see one, so I’m just going to link to my wrap-up. Awesome time, everyone! Thanks to all the wonderful cheerleaders and mini-challenge hosts!!!
Lynneon 10 Oct 2010 at 4:04 am 24Wow! You did it
Way to go! See everyone next year. That was fun!
AliBirdon 10 Oct 2010 at 4:07 am 25Great job everybody! I had a blast… see you next year!
Mikaon 10 Oct 2010 at 4:11 am 26I’m tired, but I managed to do about 22.40h of reading (1.20h of breaks!), read four books, 1576 pages. And I stayed up the whole time.
Yes, I’m proud of myself.
And I’ll be back in April.
Great job everybody!
Elsion 10 Oct 2010 at 4:11 am 27I think I’m getting old. Gave up around midnight and slept for 6 hours. Still need to fill out the end-of-event meme and prepare my summary or wrap-up post.
Candy Beauchampon 10 Oct 2010 at 4:12 am 28Since the Meme never showed up, I stole questions from someone else’s blog, I guess they were from last year *shrug* Better than nothing, but I gotta get to bed… zzzzzz! Had a great time during my first Read-A-Thon
Rebeccaon 10 Oct 2010 at 4:15 am 29I had lots of fun. Managed to stay up for the whole 24 hours (was pinching myself the last hour, though!) No meme posted, so I did a wrap-up here: http://resabi.wordpress.com/read-a-thon-1092010/ but will check back after I sleep to fill out a final meme if one gets posted. Sweet dreams everyone! It’s been a blast! Back in April…
Lilyon 10 Oct 2010 at 4:15 am 30Well, since there doesn’t seem to be a meme posted here, I just used the update template that was suggested early on. Hope that’s sufficient.
Thanks for another awesome read-a-thon and WELL DONE everyone involved!
Lilyon 10 Oct 2010 at 4:16 am 31Somehow my URL link didn’t make it onto that comment…whoops. Hopefully this one will work.
Amanda R.on 10 Oct 2010 at 4:16 am 32No meme, but I updated!
Julie @ Knitting and Sundrieson 10 Oct 2010 at 4:19 am 33Well, I didn’t make it through the night, but I still ended up with 9.5 hours of total reading time throughout the 24 hours! It was fun!

Time for me to go to bed now!
I am so looking forward to April!
ellaon 10 Oct 2010 at 5:27 am 42Wow I actually enjoyed it and posted my end of event meme on my blog! Whew what an accomplishment kudos to my fellow readers & cheerleaders!
Steven Jensenon 10 Oct 2010 at 5:37 am 43Incredible. Well done, everyone.
The Brain Lairon 10 Oct 2010 at 6:32 am 44I had so much fun with this readathon! Those cheerleaders are the best. I must say that was the best part for me!
Wouldn’t it be cool to do a one book, one readathon type thing?
klinneahon 10 Oct 2010 at 6:45 am 45http://jurmencarmeitder.blogspot.com/2010/10/24-hour-wrap-up.html
I must say, for my first time it didn’t go so well. Maybe if I had known about this when the last Harry Potter book came out…
Lynneon 10 Oct 2010 at 6:49 am 46I used the questions from the last Readathon too. It didn’t ask how many pages we read or how much time we spent reading, and I forgot to add that to my end of event post.
Here ’tis: 7 hours, 35 minutes of reading (not including blogging, visiting, challenge hosting) and 522 pages read. I made it to Hour 18.
Poseyon 10 Oct 2010 at 7:02 am 47I fell asleep around 2 or 3, but woke up around 5 am. Probably because my reader was on my stomach, my laptop open beside me, and my bedroom lamp was on. Can’t imagine why I wouldn’t have woken. LOL.
I managed to finish 3/4 books. Thanks again for a fun time!
Mandyon 10 Oct 2010 at 7:05 am 48Congrats to everyone who made it to the end! You are made of much stronger……or possibly much more caffeinated ………stuff that I! Woot!
I linked to my early wrap-up post.

Great work all – just terrific!
Jenniferon 10 Oct 2010 at 7:39 am 53Thank You I had a brilliant time!
Museon 10 Oct 2010 at 7:44 am 54I did 11.5 hours over the 24 and read in total 585 pages.
My books were:

Laura Lanik (Booksnob)on 10 Oct 2010 at 8:13 am 55Thanks for hosting, it was really fun and I really enjoyed your stay awake videos.
Vikk Simmonson 10 Oct 2010 at 8:13 am 56Found the meme on someone else’s blog so I wrote up my blog wrap-up and end-of-event meme.
Totally enjoyed this read-a-thon experience and definitely plan to participate again. The cheerleaders were terrific and really added to the experience. Loved the Twitter readathon group. Great job.

Lesleyon 10 Oct 2010 at 11:11 am 59I still can’t believe I read for 23 hours. My eyeballs STILL hurt lol.

Sherry Annon 10 Oct 2010 at 11:40 am 61Thank you to the organizers, cheerleaders, and challenge hosts. This was my first Read-a-Thon, and it was so much fun I can’t wait to do it again!
Lilyon 10 Oct 2010 at 11:59 am 62Woo! Finally the meme is posted.
I filled it out and put it on my blog.
Elishaon 10 Oct 2010 at 1:41 pm 63I totally enjoyed this! I just wish I found it sooner! I was getting irritated though because when I was responding to everyone, my name kept popping up and BookJunieMom instead of BookJunkieMom. So I checked my info on my settings and it says BookJunkieMom. So I am lost. But besides that, I had a blast. Well, besides what I said in my wrap up post about the list of people hosting a mini-challenge. Sorry I couldn’t get around to everyone! I REALLY wanted to! But thank you all for stopping by and participating!
Lauraon 10 Oct 2010 at 3:28 pm 64Thank you for hosting and being such wonderful, supportive and fun people! I can’t wait until next April!

HAPPY readings!!!
Azukion 11 Oct 2010 at 7:23 am 67The author of one of my Read-a-thon reads commented on my blog!
http://azukibc.wordpress.com/2010/10/10/read-a-thon-hour-22/
How exciting!! Although I also kind of feel bad that I didn’t really comment on the book as in depth as I normally would, because I didn’t want to take time away from reading.
Ellethon 11 Oct 2010 at 9:36 pm 68Belated End-of-Event meme linked up! Thank you so much for hosting this, thank you for being so awesome, cheerleaders, mini-challenge hosts, participants in general, and see you around next time!
