  1. I cannot listen to music and read at the same time. It’s Diet Coke — for the fizz since I drink the caffeine-free version — and crunchy stuff.

  2. I absolutely ADORE the Weepies! Thanks for the great song to push me through the afternoon. It’s soooo hot here (86!!) that it’s hard to keep focused sometimes!

  3. I wish the encouragement wasn’t so based on a single timetable. It’s long past afternoon for me: it’s ten pm.

I’m listening to Heather Dale’s music, all her Arthurian songs, which is very appropriate since three of the four texts I’ve been reading have been Arthurian ones.

  4. I’m having some tea and making dinner while listening to an audiobook. Gives my eyes a break and gets me up moving, but I don’t have to stop “reading”!

  5. Right now I’m not sleepy at all, lol! But if I were, I’ll just go sleep – I stopped fighting it years ago, never ever helped me. :) If I really want to sit up (thrilling book, mystery, suspense, etc), I’ll take a shower – works always!

  6. I slept for a while, but really, now that I have, it’s a good thing chance I’ll stay up the rest of the time. I guess one thing I’ve been doing to try and keep myself awake is play my Young Indiana Jones Chronicles DVDs in the background. I know so many episodes of that TV series by heart that they don’t distract me easily from reading.

Otherwise I’ve been nibbling on apple slices, cookies and bagel chips and drinking Cherry Pepsi even though I would prefer Cherry Coke.

  7. I hoped on the elliptical while listening to an audio book. Perfect way to get some lasting energy into me. Now I’m going to make a fruit smoothie. :)

  8. Congratulations, Stormi!

I’ve blown through some shortbread cookies, oatmeal in the morning, Butterfinger Stackerz, two tuna sandwiches, orange juice, ginger ale, and water. I am not feelin burned out by the reading, as this is one of my most pleasant pasttimes!

  9. While I was in grad school, I invested in several albums of “study music”: music that helps you concentrate on what you’re studying. That’s what I’ve been listening to for the last hour or so. I also took a half-hour break to shave and then exercise on my exercise bike. I have some kind of disability in my knees that makes it impossible for me to walk more than a few yards, so I’m using the exercise bike to strengthen my legs. The support staff is currently watching “Mystery Diagnosis,” which is completely grossing me out.
