Hour 11

Hey guys!  How’s it going so far? It’s me, Shesten aka I Heart Monster, and I’m taking over the posting duties for a few hours here in the middle of the day.  Any of you suffering from a case of the yawns yet?  I hope not, but since you guys have already been going strong for 10 hours, I suppose it’s likely.  Tell us how you’re warding-off or combating those sleepies, share your tricks so that we can all learn from each other.

I have just been drinking pepsi all day. Will be stopping that soon though so I can go to sleep tonight (have to stop at midnight so I can function tomorrow)

Oh oh, I just woke up so I’m clearly not doing well at staying awake at all! Don’t take advice from me :-)

I’ve been sitting on my porch listening to an audiobook and enjoying this gorgeous, sunny weather. I think I may have dozed off for a few minutes, but better than falling asleep on the couch, which I will probably do later tonight. I’d say the trick is to get up and move around every hour or so – get something to drink, do the dishes, have a snack, whatever. Just keep swimming. :)

I moved into the living room a few hours back and almost immediately started the old head nodding. I moved back to the computer room and am wide awake again. Must be cause I’m sitting straight up. So… stay away from the comfy chairs!!! LOL

Oh, those bad kitties! Their soft cuddly bellies and snooze gas are powerful distractions, I admit. When I woke up from my _second_ nap this afternoon, there were two kitties snoozing with me and I had the hardest time not falling back to sleep :(

I just finished my 2nd book and need a tiny break. Just checking out all the mini-challenges – - what fun!

My kitty joined me for a little while after my hour 3 nap, but for the most part her napping hasn’t bothered me. She just rejoined me, though, and it looks like she’s settling back in. And now I’m fighting the yawns, so it’s not promising…

I just took a walk, took a shower and went to church. I’m ready to tackle the evening!!!!

Well I had my son sitting on my lap while i was reading to him and I fell asleep :( but only for a few minutes. Reading out loud always makes me tired.

  12. Jenny Non 10 Apr 2010 at 2:17 pm 12

I’m actually not tired at all. Its only 3PM when I am but don’t know how I’ll feel later tonight.

I’ve been walking around the house reading whenever I feel myself getting a little sleepy. Then I make a cup of tea! :) Working so far!

My plan was to keep moving location, but I haven’t done as much of that as I thought. Perhaps it’s time to do that now that the construction guys are gone.

it’s just past noon here, so i’m not having too much trouble staying up right now, but i definitely did earlier this morning.

i had a bit of coffee for a boost and just made sure to shift around on the couch often, and to NEVER lay down. a quick walk upstairs and back down helped a couple times, too!

  18. Lisaon 10 Apr 2010 at 2:43 pm 18

I am starting to feel sleepy. No yawning yet. Off to drink some e-Boost because that usually helps me :)

  19. Missieon 10 Apr 2010 at 2:50 pm 19

Gah! I still haven’t felt clever enough to participate in any on the challenges!

At least I still reading! :D

  20. Lizzieon 10 Apr 2010 at 2:54 pm 20

I had to take a break and make supper but I am back and ready to go, skipping a few time intensive mini-challenges to continue my book but still cheer leading every hour.
    Keep it up folks!

The walk I took a few hours ago helped to revive me. But I am also a night owl so it it getting to be my time of the day!
